About Dr. Rienzi Haytasingh

Professional Background

Professional Biography of Dr. Rienzi Haytasingh, Psy.D., LEP, ABSNP

Dr. Rienzi Haytasingh is a board-certified school neuropsychologist, licensed educational psychologist, and the founder and CEO of Brain Learning Psychological Corporation. For more than three decades, he has dedicated his life’s work to advancing the well-being, independence, and educational success of individuals with disabilities—guided by a mission established in 1991: to promote the lives of people with disabilities through compassionate evaluation, evidence-based insight, and accessible pathways to opportunity.

A Diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology, Dr. Rienzi holds a Doctorate in School/Educational Psychology from Alliant International University, a Post-Doctoral Certificate in School Neuropsychology from Texas Woman’s University, and advanced graduate training in school psychology, child development, and neurocognitive assessment. His educational foundation is matched by a rare depth of clinical, academic, and leadership experience across California’s educational, mental-health, and social-service systems.

As CEO of Brain Learning Psychological Corporation, Dr. Rienzi leads one of California’s most trusted providers of school neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and vocational-readiness assessments. His organization serves clients across more than two dozen counties, including extensive work with CalWORKs/Welfare-to-Work and refugee populations. His evaluations illuminate each client’s unique cognitive strengths, learning profiles, and barriers to self-sufficiency—helping families, social workers, and county agencies make informed decisions that support long-term stability, employment, and success.

Across his career, Dr. Rienzi has served as an expert witness in federal and state special-education cases; a district neuropsychologist for California public schools; an autism specialist and program developer; and a university professor training the next generation of school psychologists. He has held faculty or lecturer positions at San Diego State University, National University, Alliant International University, and Chapman/Brandman University, where he also served as Department Chair. His work has shaped teacher training, district policy, accreditation standards, and statewide professional practice.

Dr. Rienzi is widely recognized for his ability to translate complex neuropsychological science into practical strategies for educators, social workers, and families. He has delivered hundreds of trainings and keynote lectures on autism, ADHD, executive functioning, adolescent brain development, social media and youth mental health, culturally responsive assessment, and neuropsychological considerations in disability identification. His expertise has supported school districts, non-public schools, Catholic schools, mental-health organizations, epilepsy foundations, and county agencies throughout California.

A lifelong advocate for equity in education, he has served on multiple boards—including the San Diego County Autism Society, the Epilepsy Foundation’s Professional Advisory Board, the San Diego Association of School Psychologists, and the Helix High School Board. His research interests include structured teaching, neuropsychological profiles of autism spectrum disorders, pediatric psychopharmacology, and the cognitive underpinnings of learning disabilities.

Today, as a leader, clinician, and educator, Dr. Rienzi continues to champion a simple but powerful vision: every individual—regardless of disability, circumstance, or socioeconomic challenge—deserves a clear understanding of their learning profile and a realistic path toward independence. Through Brain Learning Psychological Corporation, he has transformed this vision into a statewide movement of empowerment, scientific clarity, and hope.
